8′ Art Board with artwork by local artist HADS

Surfboard Souls Manly have teamed up with the incredibly talented local artist Tom ‘Hads’ Hadley, current Red Bull Doodle Art Australian winner, to collaborate on an artwork that reflects all things iconic to the northern beaches.
Over almost nine hours of work, Surfboard Souls Manly restored, prepared and painted the white base coat of the 8′ longboard for Hads to create his magic on.
Hads has created an awesome illustrated homage to Queenscliff and surrounds, incorporating the local landmarks and iconic symbols like the Manly Ferry.
Make the winning bid and you’ll be able to take home this unique work of art, while supporting suicide prevention on the northern beaches.
All funds raised from this board will be donated as part of Surfboard Souls Manly fundraising campaign for the 2023 Lifeline Classic by Lifeline Northern Beaches.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
My name is Tom Hadley, I’m a 21-year-old Illustrator and interdisciplinary designer from Manly and the 2023 Red Bull Doodle Art Australian winner.I had never tackled something this physically large to paint on before and was extremely out of my comfort zone painting this, and I’m stoked with the finished piece!The design – I wanted to encapsulate the escape that surfing and being in and around the ocean offers. The beach is a rallying place for locals to form connections, lifelong friendships and forget about life’s daily stresses. In my art you can see that it incorporates rib vortices at the back of a wave when seen from under the water, something that is mesmerising when you see it in person. Along with a bunch of local and feel-good references to northern beaches surfing culture.
Whilst supporting local artists and surfers, the funds from the Lifeline Classic are raised specifically for crisis support and suicide prevention on the northern beaches and will be used to directly support people in need in our local community.
